One of the few ponies with a cutie mark with more than three colors is Rainbow Dash, whose rainbow lightning bolt has four. The other ponies with four- or five-colored cutie marks feature a more detailed image, so many of the colors are only different to allow for shading.

The cutie mark is consistently a single way in the show. That's what I'm going off of here. I'm sensing some sarcastic condescension from you, but I understand. You bring up some good points, and it's alright to disagree. My roommate and I have considered the idea that the backwards cutie mark has pretty much taken a life of its own.
