Der Ort Röcken liegt zwischen Weißenfels und Lützen etwa 20 Kilometer südwestlich von Leipzig in der Leipziger Tieflandsbucht und bildet durch die bisher nicht erfolgten Eingriffe in die Landschaft aufgrund des Braunkohlenbergbaus ein Fragment der ursprünglichen Kulturlandschaft.

Röcken is a village and former municipality in the Burgenlandkreis district, in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. Since 1 July 2009, it has been part of the town of Lützen. The village is best known as the birthplace, in 1844, of philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche, whose father was the pastor here. The house where he was born still stands today.

Röcken is a small village with a population of 170 and is situated directly at the Federal Highway 87 between Leizpig and Weißenfels in today's German State of Sachse-Anhalt. Nietzsche's birth house, the church in which he was baptised, his village school, his grave and two adjacent buildings still bear silent witness to Nietzsche's time.
