Peter Allen (1944–1992), singer, songwriter, and entertainer, was born Peter Richard Woolnough on 10 February 1944 at Tenterfield, New South Wales, elder of two children of New South Wales-born parents Richard John Woolnough, soldier and grocer, and his wife Marion Bryden, née Davidson.
Peter Allen (born Peter Woolnough in in 1944) was a consummate entertainer who could sing, play the piano, dance. In 1981 he did a series of sold-out concerts at the iconic Radio City Music Hall in New York where he famously danced on stage with acclaimed dance troupe The Rockettes, the first male entertainer to do this.
