In 1992, during series 2 of House Party, the character Mr Blobby was introduced as a way for Noel Edmonds to play practical jokes on celebrities. The success of the character resulted in a large amount of merchandise, public appearances and even theme parks based around the character.
Noel's House Party: With Noel Edmonds, Barry Killerby, Tony Blackburn, Frank Carson. Set in Noel Edmonds' fictitious grand house in the equally fictitious town of Crinkley Bottom, the show centres around games involving the studio audience and special guest celebrities.
Series 2 – 1992-1993 – Noel's House Party At 30. “Keep It Beeb!” Planned to run for 21 weeks including a Boxing Day special, series 2 launched with huge confidence retaining all the key hallmarks of the first series and taking them further, quite often unexpectedly. There were some amendments to the set.
