Richard Anthony " Cheech " Marin (born July 13, 1946) is an American comedian, actor, musician, and activist. He gained recognition as part of the comedy act Cheech & Chong during the 1970s and early 1980s with Tommy Chong, and as Don Johnson 's partner, Insp. Joe Dominguez, on Nash Bridges.

Cheech is an actor, director, writer, musician, chicano art collector, art exhibitor, and humanitarian … a man who has enough talent, humor, and intelligence to do just about anything.
The Cheech is home to the unparalleled Cheech Marin Collection of Chicano Art. It is a space for continued exhibition, scholarship, and dialogue, of Chicano art’s deep roots in the Chicano Movement of the 1960s and 70s to its contemporary and evolving response to current social conditions and global artistic movements.
