Boards Of Canada. Mike Sandison (born 1 June 1970) & Marcus Eoin (born 21 July 1971) are an electronic duo from Edinburgh, Scotland, UK. The name Boards Of Canada derives from the National Film Board of Canada, whose documentary films inspired the duo.
Boards of Canada are a Scottish electronic music duo consisting of the brothers Michael Sandison and Marcus Eoin, formed initially as a group in 1986 before becoming a duo in the 1990s.
Early in their career, Boards of Canada released several recordings in very limited numbers, distributed only to friends and family. Though their existence, including tracklists, has been confirmed by the band through their website, they have never been made public and have been sought after by fans and collectors.
