A Hero of Our Time is a film directed by Mirac Atabey with Emrah Gulsen. Year: 2021. Original title: Zamanimizin bir kahramani. Synopsis: While continuing his middle-class life with his cat in a family-owned apartment in Istanbul, Mert loses his father.
It follows our Hero, Pechorin, traveling south, stuck in the middle of love and passion, and finally found mental test of his honor with close friend. Featuring beautiful scenario of Russian Caucasus, the film has no trouble depicting lives in the army and romance of our Hero and his lovers in 19th century.
Inspired by Lermontov’s notorious anti-hero Pechorin, A Hero of Our Time focuses on three tragicomic days in a small Black Sea village where a man is busy preparing for his father’s funeral and presents a portrait of a generation that embodies many of the flaws of our time.
