The Simpson occlusal plane finder is, in principle, simply a flat plane equipped with a circular, or double, spirit level. The flat surface is held against the occlusal surfaces and incisal edges (Fig. IB) and the head moved and tipped until the bubble of the spirit level registers center over the mark in the center of the circular spirit level.
My View and Opinion: Use the Fox Plane technique to reference a physiologic occlusal plane, not depending on maxillary boney references. Capture a correct maxillary slant or angled HIP (Physiologic) keeping the Fox Occlusal Plane Analyzer level and parallel to the ground.
