2 de sept. de 2022 · Performed, recorded and produced by Fractal Sextet between April 2020 and February 2022 in Rome, London, Zürich and Portland. All tracks are based on original compositions by Stephan Thelen (tracks 01, 02, 04 & 05) and Fabio Anile (track 03), but were extended and arranged with contributions from all members of Fractal Sextet.
23 de mar. de 2023 · In the over two-decade-old "movement" that's come to be known as Swiss Minimalism, guitarist Stephan Thelen has pushed himself to the fore, both with his group Sonar and in solo projects. In recent years, he's been astonishingly prolific (releasing five albums from 2021-2022 alone).
Thelen, Stephan: Fractal Sextet. The original design for Fractal Sextet was to get this band into a room and record, but due to the Covid pandemic this became a file sharing project. I was drawn into Thelen’s musical web after hearing Fractal 2, and have been anticipating getting my chance at this one.
