Esta operación es conocida como georreferenciación y para ello podemos emplear las herramientas que ArcGIS nos proporciona en su módulo Georeferencing. En éste artículo vamos a mostrarte cómo georreferenciar una imagen con ArcGIS mediante un ejercicio práctico.

14 de dic. de 2011 · There are 2 options to choose from: Update Georeferencing and Rectify. Update Georeferencing. Only updates your files- no redundancy created. Update are almost immediate. Rectify. A new raster dataset is created and the original file is left unaltered.
Should you rectify your raster? You can permanently transform your raster dataset after georeferencing it by using the Rectify command on the Georeferencing toolbar or by using the Warp tool. You can also store the transformation information in the auxiliary files using the Update Georeferencing command on the Georeferencing toolbar.
Georeferencing tools. The Georeference tab contains all the tools you need to georeference your raster datasets. You can access the Georeference tab from the Imagery tab as follows: In the Contents pane, select the layer you want to georeference. To access the georeferencing options, click the Imagery tab.
