Knowledge of how the impact energy is absorbed by the specimen while it is deforming under the impact loading, and the behavior of the specimen after yielding, is not provided by this test.
TEST DESCRIPTION. The test principle consists of puncturing a board sample with a striking head, triangular pyramid shaped, and fixed to a pendulum. The required energy for the striking head to cross the sample completely is measured. This means, to do the initial puncture, tear and open the board.
