25 de ene. de 2024 · Drive pulleys, also known as input pulleys, play a pivotal role in transferring power from the source to the driven system. On the other hand, driven pulleys, or output pulleys, receive and utilize the mechanical power transmitted by the drive pulleys to perform specific tasks.
A drive pulley is a pulley that is attached to a power source, that when in use puts force on a belt (or cable or chain). The belt is connected to the object being driven, which will then spin. This is a type of power transmission.
A pulley is a wheel on an axle or shaft enabling a taut cable or belt passing over the wheel to move and change direction, or transfer power between itself and a shaft. A sheave or pulley wheel is a pulley using an axle supported by a frame or shell (block) to guide a cable or exert force.
Belt-and-pulley systems, along with gear-driven systems, represent the common ways that engineers transfer rotational motion and torque from one shaft to another shaft. Belts offer flexibility in that the shafts do not need to be right next to one another, and gears are more commonly used in high-load applications.

11 de ago. de 2022 · Driven Pulleys. Although it may be confused with drive pulleys, driven pulleys essentially provide the opposite purpose to a drive pulley. Where drive pulleys are characterized by their connection to a power source, the driven pulley doesn’t connect to a power source at all.
