La idea de envoltorio y de recrear una atmósfera basada en los libros, tranquilidad y luz son parte de la idea inicial del proyecto.

Library made from bookshelves. When I thought of the elements which compose an ultimate library, they became books, bookshelves, light and the place.
Since opening in 1967, the Museum has collected approximately 40,000 works of art and design-related materials. The collection includes about 30,000 posters, focusing on outstanding examples of Japanese and international design from the 20th century, and about 400 modern chairs.
El proyecto para la nueva biblioteca de la Escuela de Arte de Musashino —una de las más prestigiosas de Japón— puede definirse como un contenedor lineal de libros que, potencialmente, podría prolongarse indefinidamente, plegándose de manera sucesiva hasta conformar una espiral angulosa y laberíntica.
