The Hundred and One Dalmatians is a 1956 children's novel by Dodie Smith about the kidnapping of a family of Dalmatian puppies. It was originally serialized in Woman's Day as The Great Dog Robbery , [1] and details the adventures of two dalmatians named Pongo and Missis as they rescue their puppies from a fur farm.
6 de feb. de 2022 · While Hundred and One Dalmatians is at times a charming adventure story, it does not compare well to that rich legacy. It attempts less, risks less, and is sadly mired in the prejudices of its time. I still wish more people were aware of the book; Smith deserves credit for creation of the story.
11 de jun. de 2020 · This book differs slightly from the Disney movie, and is less a companion novel than a book written from a different perspective. As the reader, we soon come to understand what dogs “believe” their humans are like. I found this perspective unique to read from, as I had just finished reading The Kingdom of Copper by S.A. Chakraborty.
