As diverse, fascinating and provocative, poetic and stirring, subtle and powerful, disturbing and reconciling as art, the Mozarteum University Salzburg sees itself as a place of artistic encounter and challenge. It is the only art university in Austria to combine music, performing arts and fine arts.
Mozarteum University Salzburg (German: Universität Mozarteum Salzburg) is one of three affiliated but separate (it is actually a state university) entities under the “Mozarteum” moniker in Salzburg municipality; the International Mozarteum Foundation and the Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg are the other two.
The Mozarteum University offers over 40 courses in music, performing and visual arts, taught by renowned artists and teachers. It also hosts the International Summer Academy, the International Mozart Competition and fosters international relations with other academies.
The Mozarteum University offers a wide range of study programmes in music, music and dance education, performing and visual arts, directing, scenography, liberal arts and interdisciplinary. It has 15 departments and 5 institutes at the Salzburg and Innsbruck locations.
