It is unknown if the Shadow Remnants are connected to the shadow animatronics in any way, although it is possible, as when you collect too much, Shadow Bonnie appears and attacks you. The colors also match, being black and purple.
I think shadow Bonnie is purple in the minigame because it's really Purple Man haunting Springtrap instead of Bonnie. The glitches in the game can picture the fight of Purple Man soul to abandon the animatronic as his possession is forced instead of voluntary like the other animatronics.
