Plot. On a hot summer day, a jury in the New York County Courthouse prepares to deliberate the case of an impoverished 18-year-old boy accused of killing his abusive father. The judge says that if there is any reasonable doubt, the jurors must return a verdict of "not guilty".

Henry Fonda (1905-1982) As juror 8 Fonda plays the instigator of the jury reconsideration of the case. It is a natural role for him, as the calm, rational everyman who wins the others over with his his persistence and rational arguments.
Fonda starred in Corman's 1967 psychedelic film The Trip, also starring Dern and Susan Strasberg. His next project was the seminal 1969 anti-establishment film Easy Rider, which he produced and co-scripted, receiving an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Screenplay.
