NYPA sells the power to state facilities, municipal and rural electric coops, and large utilities. Located in Lewiston, NY, 4.5 miles downstream from Niagara Falls, the Niagara Power Project uses a gated tunnel under the City of Niagara to divert water from the Niagara River into two reservoirs.
Exterior views, 3D animations, and high definition video of the plant’s generating equipment take visitors virtually inside operating areas, while giant screens let you experience the majesty and power of Niagara Falls. Then, hold on tight after taking a seat in the state-of-the-art 4-D theatre.
