Mimic the Octopus [3] [4] is a character that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by IDW Publishing. He is an anthropomorphic mimic octopus and a mercenary who carries the ability to shapeshift. He was formerly a member of the Diamond Cutters but later betrayed them to Dr. Eggman.

Being a mimic octopus, Mimic had the ability to shapeshift into anyone, from Sonic to the members of the Diamond Cutters - his former crew. He is able to mimic any living creature (with size ranging from as small as Charmy/Cream to as large as Vector/Big/Eggman), even down to their voice.
