Highly controversial and previously unavailable in North America, Oscar-winner Marion Cotillard sizzles as the young and naive high school student named Chloe. Her desire for a new and exciting life leads her to a charming stranger in the streets of Paris. (French with English subtitles).
Marion Cotillard offers a strong performance as Chloe, a young French woman who falls in love and into prostitution to get her lover out of debt. Berry focuses on the soul-slaying sadness of the situation, and his film bears a natural, lived-in look. Performances are solid, but characters feel flat. They are as rote as the story itself.
