Sweet Little Mysteries: The Island Antholgoy is an excellent overview of John’s music with Island and spans the greater part of his career on the label. Noticeable by their absence are any songs from John’s first four albums – a little strange !
The album was previewed in November 1977 at a concert at London’s Rainbow Theatre when John was backed by Steve Winwood, and the rhythm section from Gong. Produced by Island Records president Chris Blackwell, One World was understated, jazzy, almost minimalist.
