The Temple of Olympian Zeus (Greek: Ναός του Ολυμπίου Διός, Naós tou Olympíou Diós), also known as the Olympieion or Columns of the Olympian Zeus, is a former colossal temple at the centre of the Greek capital, Athens.

It was essentially an ancient acropolis--a fortified hill-top and palace complex--located just below the peaks of Mount Olympus. The golden gates of the heavenly fortress were guarded by the three Horae and it contained the palace of Zeus, lesser palaces for the other gods, and stables for the immortal horses.
