This paper presents an integrated collaborative approach for facilities management (FM), which utilises the Sydney Opera House (SOH) as an exemplar case study. The approach deals with Benchmarking, Procurement and Digital Modelling as a whole and develops collaboration between them.
The Sydney Opera House Facilities Management Exemplar Project is an initiative of the Cooperative Research Centre for Construction Innovation (CRCCi) in conjunction with Sydney Opera House, academic and industry partners1. The project is aligned with the Federal Government’s Facilities Management Action Agenda.

The project utilises the Sydney Opera House (SOH), one of most unique buildings in Australia, to research and create innovative FM strategies and models that will have a direct beneficial role for the Australian facilities management industry as well as the economy as a whole.
This Digital Modelling Report incorporates the previous research completed for the FM Exemplar Project utilising the Sydney Opera House as a case study. The research has demonstrated significant benefits in digitising design documentation and operational and maintenance manuals.
