Identificación. PROPORCIONADO POR MERLIN. Con cabeza relativamente grande y rechoncho. Mayormente gris y verde, sin rojizo, beige o anaranjado. Los machos tienen cabeza magenta impactante, que parece oscura en ausencia de luz adecuada. Se encuentra en zonas bastante abiertas, incluyendo bosques, matorrales de desiertos y chaparrales.
