Research Sparked by Curiosity. Moody College houses many research centers and institutes that foster collaboration across disciplines, offer research and study opportunities for faculty and students, and encourage investigation and experimentation in a focused area or topic.
The Department of Communication Studies in the Moody College of Communication at The University of Texas at Austin offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in Organizational Communication, Interpersonal Communication and Language and Rhetoric.
Moody College graduates change the world through research, creative work, persuasive communication and clinical practice. They pursue today’s time-honored communication careers in newsrooms, ad agencies and on film sets, as well as the jobs of tomorrow in content creation, immersive experiences, artificial intelligence and more.
The graduate program in the Department of Communication Studies at the University of Texas at Austin is divided into three primary areas of study. Interpersonal Communication involves the study of both the processes and effects of social interaction, usually in face-to-face situations.
About Our Department. In the Department of Communication Studies, we learn about communication in human relationships. We study communication in relationships that are as intense as marriage and families, as large as political communities, and as involving as the workplace.

The research fellows are faculty, graduate students and alumni of the Moody College of Communication's School of Journalism and Media at the University of Texas at Austin.
