Tangier ( / tænˈdʒɪər / tan-JEER; Arabic: طنجة, romanized : Ṭanjah, [tˤandʒa], [tˤanʒa]) or Tangiers is a city in northwestern Morocco, on the coasts of the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. The city is the capital of the Tanger-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region, as well as the Tangier-Assilah Prefecture of Morocco.

15 de may. de 2024 · Tangier, port and principal city of northern Morocco. It is located on a bay of the Strait of Gibraltar 17 miles (27 km) from the southern tip of Spain. It has been the summer site of the Moroccan royal residence since 1962 and was a destination for artists and writers in the 1950s and ’60s.
Located on the Strait of Gibraltar where Africa meets Europe, Tangier has long held strategic importance. Ruled through the centuries by waves of conquerors including Romans, Vandals, Byzantines, Arabs and Portuguese, the city is more than two and a half millennia old, making it one of North Africa's most ancient.
