In 1972, the Stella Adler Studio of Acting became the first professional actor training school to become affiliated with NYU Tisch School of the Arts. The program has continued since, leading students to a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and combining academic studies at New York University with professional training at the studio.
The Stella Adler Acting Method Awareness. A core tenet of Stella Adler’s “system” is that “growth as an actor and growth as a human being are synonymous”. Essentially, this principle is a reminder that acting training does not exist in a vacuum alongside your life, but that it is your life.
Stella Adler. From 1905 until her death eighty-seven years later, Stella Adler dedicated her life to preserving and expanding the highest level of art in the theatre. The youngest daughter of Sara and Jacob Adler, Stella began her career on her father’s stage at the age of four in a production of Broken Hearts.
