Aprovechó el chasis del Chevrolet Corvette, respetando la batalla de este, con 2.600 mm. Al igual que el Corvette, la carrocería también estaba construida en fibra de vidrio.

The Oldsmobile F-88 Concept Car, known as the XP-20 project, made its debut on January 21, 1954, at General Motors Motorama in New York at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel. The preliminary sketches were created by veteran designer Bill Lange with the final designs performed in the main Oldsmobile studio under the direction of Art Ross.
