  1. 11 to 18. Website. cosa.news. The City of Oxford High School for Boys (a.k.a. Oxford High School for Boys and City of Oxford School) was founded in 1881 by Thomas Hill Green to provide Oxford boys with an education which would enable them to prepare for University.

  2. 30 de jun. de 2022 · The former City of Oxford High School for Boys in George Street was founded in 1881. Its main promoter was Thomas Hill Green, White’s Professor of Moral Philosophy and the first university member ever to serve on Oxford City Council.

  3. Scope and Content. The City of Oxford High School for Boys Old Boys Club was founded in 1903. In 1933 its named changed to the Old Oxford Citizens Society and it was later known as Oxford School Old Boys Society. Subscribers to the Club included T. E. Lawrence who attended the school from 1897-1907. Records for the school can be found at S211/3.

  4. The school eventually cost £10,000, and opened in 1881 with 47 pupils. The school remained here until 1966, when it moved to the Southfield Grammar School site (present called Oxford Community School) in Glanville Road off the Cowley Road.
