Three of the four new songs, “Thunder In The Sky”, “Let The Gods Decide” and “God Or Man” could be easily in any of their earlier albums. They may not be as brutal or fast as the material on “Triumph of Steel”, but they are heavy and straightforward, and have nice choruses and excellent performances by all the members.

Review Summary: Manowar keeps on going, though no one knows why. With their last album, Manowar took their posturing in the name of "true metal" to new heights. Gods Of War was not just a concept album, but a heavily orchestrated concept album that would be the first in a series depicting the various Norse Gods.
17 de jul. de 2009 · Es un tema que empieza como se espera de ellos, una doble bombo a medio gas, riffs repetitivos, Eric cantando como siempre lo ha hecho en sus tonos medios, y un estribillo coreable, pegadizo, poderoso y sobre todo heavy 100%.
Overall, Thunder in the Sky (how do they come up with these names anyway?) has the definitive version of The Crown And the Ring and shows Eric Adams in tremendous vocal shape, but the new songs are extremely uninspired and boring.
