Lier (Dutch pronunciation: ⓘ; French: Lierre, French pronunciation: ⓘ) is a municipality located in the Belgian province of Antwerp, arguably on the outskirts of Antwerp. It is composed of the city of Lier proper and the village of Koningshooikt. The city centre is surrounded by the river Nete, around which it grew.

Lierre (en néerlandais Lier) est une ville néerlandophone de Belgique située en Région flamande dans la province d'Anvers. La ville est située au confluent de la Grande Nèthe et de la Petite Nèthe. Elle est née de la fusion des anciennes communes de Lierre et de Koningshooikt.
22 de may. de 2008 · Lier es famosa en toda Bélgica por la elaboración de encajes y la fabricación de instrumentos musicales en metal. A pesar de ser fuertemente dañada durante la Primera Guerra Mundial, hoy la ciudad apenas muestra síntomas de aquellos malos momentos.
Esta tranquila ciudad del norte de Bélgica no suele recibir demasiados turistas, pese a contar con un centro histórico de lo más atractivo. En él destaca especialmente su bello beaterio, su Plaza Mayor ( Grote Markt) y algún que otro edificio singular como la Torre Zimmer y su reloj astronómico.
