(AP) – Two brothers who were behind bars for 31 years in connection with a 1983 gang rape have been granted parole. 57-year-old Kenneth Thornton and 53-year-old Michael Thornton were sent to prison in 1984 for the attack of Wanda Jones Miller.
In 1984, brothers Kenneth and Michael Thornton were sentenced to 40 years in prison for the rape, sodomy and kidnapping of Miller the year before. Authorities say the Thorntons kidnapped Miller from the parking lot of the former Baby Doe's restaurant, took her to their home in Pinson and repeatedly raped and tortured her.
