Harlem‘s Wynonie Harris, August 24, 1915 – June 14, 1969, was a blues shouter and rhythm-and-blues singer of upbeat songs, featuring humorous, often ribald lyrics and inspiration to Elvis Presley. He formed a style that had a considerable influence on early rock and roll, as he was noted for his voice that powerfully projected over driving, horn-led bands.
