2 de mar. de 2021 · Fredi Walker-Browne as Joanne Jefferson. Fredi Walker-Browne, who originated the role of Joanne in Rent, has no shortage of artmaking in her life. She was one of the few original cast members to not be asked back to the 2005 film version, supposedly because of her age, and was replaced by Tracie Thoms.
Fredi Walker-Browne was born on 2 October 1962 in St. Louis, Missouri, USA. She is an actress, known for The Big C (2010) , The Vanishing of Sidney Hall (2017) and Maggie's Plan (2015) . She has been married to D. Browne since 12 February 2000.
Life and career. She is an alumna of New York University.. Her Broadway debut was the role of Joanne Jefferson, the high-class lawyer and lover of Maureen Johnson (Idina Menzel), in the original Broadway cast of Rent.At 33, Walker-Browne was the oldest of the eight principal cast members. Fredi Walker-Browne doesn’t mind the two-hour drive back and forth to the Lehigh Valley from her home outside New York City. She’s been making the trek nearly daily through the past month to direct “The Color Purple” at Civic Theatre of Allentown.
