Laura Carmichael (born 16 July 1986) is an English actress, most widely known for her performance as Lady Edith Crawley in the ITV (UK) and PBS (US) television period drama series Downton Abbey. Her other work includes television series Marcella (2016), and the feature film A United Kingdom (2016).
27 de jul. de 2021 · The unassuming and admittedly not-very-ambitious Bertie Pelham became infatuated with Lady Edith in Downton Abbey's Season 5 Christmas Special. He was a Marquess, making him one of the most honorable and noble men Edith had a chance to be with.
Edith and Bertie first met in the end of year grouse season in 1924, where Lord Sinderby rents Brancaster Castle and invites the Crawley Family as well as additional guests such as Henry Talbot, Charlie Rogers and Bertie Pelham, who was its land agent at the time.
After taking over The Sketch magazine business, she has become much more independent and involved with affairs outside Downton Abbey.
