David Crockett (August 17, 1786 – March 6, 1836) was an American folk hero, frontiersman, soldier, and politician. He is often referred to in popular culture as the "King of the Wild Frontier". He represented Tennessee in the U.S. House of Representatives and served in the Texas Revolution .
Davy Crockett, American frontiersman and politician who became a legendary figure. He was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives as a member of the Tennessee delegation three times and, after losing his final election, fought and died among the Texan defenders of the Alamo in San Antonio, Texas, in 1836.
