Dunne appeared posthumously in the Hill Street Blues episode "Requiem For a Hairbag", which aired on November 18, 1982, only two weeks after her death.

Dominique Dunne required little makeup to guest star as a victim of abuse, as her bruises were real. The night before filming she has been beaten by her boyfriend, John Thomas Sweeney.
Sweeney was uncontrollable and abusive (so abusive that Dominique did not need makeup to play the role of an abuse victim on Hill Street Blues (1981)). Dominique ended the relationship on October 30, 1982.
Dominique had to play a teenager who has been constantly abused by her mother. The bruises she has in this scene are almost no make-up. The day before she had to play at the set,Dominique became an abuse victim in her real life...
