Louisa Maria Teresa Stuart (French: Louise Marie Thérèse; 28 June 1692 – 18 April 1712), known to Jacobites as The Princess Royal, was the last child of James II and VII, the deposed king of England, Scotland and Ireland, by his second wife Mary of Modena.

Watercolour painter and philanthropist Louisa Stuart was brought up mostly in Paris, where her father was British Ambassador to the French court. She was taught to draw from an early age and art, along with religion and philanthropy, was one of her main interests throughout her life.
Louisa Anne Stuart was born on April 14, 1818, the daughter of Sir Charles Stuart (created Lord Stuart de Rothesay in 1828), then serving as a British diplomat in Paris.
