Volker Braun ( Dresde, 7 de mayo de 1939) es un escritor alemán . Biografía. Tras el bachillerato, Volker Braun trabajó en la minería y en obras públicas antes de estudiar Filosofía en Leipzig, donde se interesó muy rápido por las contradicciones y las expectativas de la República Democrática Alemana (RDA).
Volker Braun ist ein deutscher Schriftsteller. Er zählt neben Peter Hacks und Heiner Müller zu den bedeutendsten Dramatikern der DDR. Sein Werk umfasst neben Theatertexten Gedichte, Romane, Erzählungen und Hörspiele.

Initially forbidden to attend a university for political reasons, Braun was a construction worker and a machinist.

Volker Braun (born 7 May 1939 in Dresden) is a German writer. His works include Provokation für mich ( Provocation for me) – a collection of poems written between 1959 and 1964 and published in 1965, a play, Die Kipper ( The Dumpers) (1972; written 1962–1965), and Das ungezwungene Leben Kasts ( The Unrestrained Life of Kast) (1972).

Volker Braun was born in 1939 in Dresden. He worked in various manual jobs before studying philosophy in Leipzig. While initially supportive of East German socialism, he changed after the Prague Spring and became more critical and was monitored by the East German police.
