Timothy Zahn (born 1951 or 1952) is an American writer of science fiction and fantasy. He is known best for his prolific collection of Star Wars books, chiefly the Thrawn trilogy, and has published several other series of sci-fi and fantasy novels of his own original creation, in addition to many works of short fiction.
Licenciado en Ciencias Físicas por la Universidad Estatal de Michigan, obtuvo un master por la de Illinois. Comenzó a escribir en 1975. Escritor muy prolífico de novelas de ciencia ficción, es fundamentalmente conocido por la trilogía de La Nueva República de la serie de La Guerra de las Galaxias.
