Hyacinthe Rigaud (baptized July 18, 1659, Perpignan, Fr.—died Dec. 29, 1743, Paris) was one of the most prolific and successful French portrait painters of the Baroque period. He was trained at Montpellier before moving to Lyon and finally to Paris in 1681, where he devoted himself to portraiture.
Hyacinthe Rigaud. (Hyacinthe-François Rigaud; Perpiñán, Francia, 1659-París, 1743) Pintor francés. Se formó en Montpellier a partir de 1674 con P. Peret y A. Ranc. Comenzó a trabajar como pintor en esa misma ciudad, para trasladarse en 1681 a París, donde al año siguiente ganó el Premio de Roma.
