Laurent Lafforgue (6 de noviembre de 1966 (57 años) es un matemático francés nacido en Antony, Francia. Biografía. Entró en la Escuela Normal Superior de París en 1986. En 1994 recibió su PhD en el grupo de aritmética y geometría algebraica de la Universidad de París-Sur.

Laurent Lafforgue (French:; born 6 November 1966) is a French mathematician. He has made outstanding contributions to Langlands' program in the fields of number theory and analysis, and in particular proved the Langlands conjectures for the automorphism group of a function field.

Laurent Lafforgue was born in Antony, on the southern outskirts of Paris. He entered the primary school Jules Ferry in Antony in 1972, moving to the Lycée Descartes in the same town in 1977.
