Thursday October Christian (14 October 1790 – 21 April 1831) was the first son of Fletcher Christian (leader of the historical mutiny on the Bounty) and his Tahitian wife Mauatua. He was the first child born on the Pitcairn Islands after the mutineers took refuge on the island.

Soon after leading a famous mutiny against the captain of the Bounty in 1789, Fletcher Christian was blessed with a son born on Pitcairn Island in the South Pacific. He couldn’t think of a name for the baby, so Fletcher chose to call him Thursday October (I’ll bet you can’t guess the day and month that Thursday October Christian was born).
Their common ancestors were the nine surviving mutineers from the mutiny on HMS Bounty which occurred in the south Pacific Ocean in 1789. Their descendants also live in New Zealand, Australia, and the United States.
