Harold Holt (born Aug. 5, 1908, Sydney—died Dec. 17, 1967, near Portsea, Victoria, Australia) was the prime minister of Australia (1966–67) who supported U.S. policies in Vietnam and sponsored the visit to Australia of Lyndon B. Johnson, the first American president-in-office to travel there.
