Fitzhugh Lee (November 19, 1835 – April 28, 1905) was a Confederate cavalry general in the American Civil War, the 40th Governor of Virginia, diplomat, and United States Army general in the Spanish–American War.

Fitzhugh Lee 1835-1905. Fitzhugh Lee came from the distinguished lineage of the Virginia Lee's -- grandson of Henry "Light-Horse Harry" and nephew of Robert E. Lee. He graduated from West Point in 1856, but resigned his commission with the U.S. army to join the Confederate forces.
