Ori Kaplan (Hebrew: אורי קפלן, born October 1, 1969) is an Israeli jazz saxophonist and a music producer. He moved to the United States in 1991. He has worked with many artists including Shotnez Tom Abbs , Firewater , Gogol Bordello , and Balkan Beat Box (of which he is a founding member). [2]
Saxophonist Ori Kaplan was born in Israel in 1969, and moved to the U.S. in 1991. After finishing his degree in 1996, Kaplan dove into the New York City downtown scene, forming his Trio Plus with Geoff Mann on drums, and Tom Abbs on bass and tuba.

Born in Tel Aviv, Israel at age 11 Ori was exposed to the clarinet teaching of kleizmer and classical teachers in Jaffa. Instead, he chose to play with DXM, a sampler driven underground Tel Aviv band. Kaplan immigrated to the US in 1991.
