Noel Langley’s drawing-room comedy is brought to the big screen with Heather Thatcher as Lady Buckering, a financially embarrassed, upper-class widow who is exasperated by her four adult daughters and their various romantic difficulties.
The story revolves around the impending birth and the love affairs of the other three daughters; Bicky, with eccentric student Roly; Gerda, married to artist Wilfred; and Catherine, in love with the landlord's son, Clifford Magill.
