William Paterson University, officially William Paterson University of New Jersey (WPUNJ), is a public university in Wayne, New Jersey. It is part of New Jersey's public system of higher education. Founded in 1855 and named after American judge William Paterson, William Paterson is the third-oldest public institution in New Jersey.

1 de abr. de 2024 · William Paterson was an Irish-born American jurist, one of the framers of the U.S. Constitution, U.S. senator (1789–90), and governor of New Jersey (1790–93). He also served as an associate justice of the U.S. Supreme Court from 1793 to 1806. Paterson immigrated to America with his family in 1747.
