David Louis Newman (born March 11, 1954) is an American composer and conductor known particularly for his film scores. In a career spanning more than thirty years, he has composed music for nearly 100 feature films, as well as the 1997 and 1998 versions of the 20th Century Fox fanfare.

David Newman is a film and concert composer, conductor, and actor with over 100 credits and an Oscar nomination. He is the son of nine-time Oscar-winning composer Alfred Newman and has worked with leading orchestras and film music preservation.
