Guillaume-Henri Dufour nacio, de padres ginebrinos, el ano 1787 en Constanza; fue ingeniero, urbanista, profesor y politico. Mas aun, teorico y practico militar, llego a mandar el ejercito federal en 1847, 1849, 1856 y 1859.
